Harrison J. Hummel III, better known to many as “Chip” who is also Hummel Office Plus Chairmen of the board, is BME’s President. His main responsibility being major account development and finances. He also provides insight to the direction and future growth of the company including maintaining the financial strength of the corporation.
Born and raised in Herkimer, New York, he was educated in the Herkimer school system and graduated from Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) with a business degree.
He is an active member of many local boards, a few of which are Commercial Travelers, Human Technology Corporation, Herkimer County Community College Foundation, NBT Bank - Advisory Board, and S.P. Richards Dealer Council. He is never too busy when asked to speak to various high schools, colleges, office product groups and business seminars on the future of business, business management, sales, financial, business succession planning and how to run a successful company.
Chip is also an advocate and firm believer of healthy business relationships. On many occasions a simple handshake has been sufficient to culminate a contract, a rarity in this day and age! His hard work, commitment and dedication to the company, along with, as he states, “The hundreds of employees (partners) over the years have helped him in making Hummel’s the successful and well respected company it is today.”
Chip does not have to find time for his family, He takes the time! Devoted to his wife, Judy and his children, Harrison IV, Keila, Justin, Solace and Jordan. Chip is also been blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren, Logan, Coltan, Daltan, Jackson, Lily, Matt, Michael And Kara. All of whom are the force that make it all worthwhile!
When time allows, Chip enjoys a competitive game of tennis, golf and traveling with family and friends and occasionally, a trip to Viva Las Vegas or enjoying some R And R In Bonita Springs, Florida.
Steve graduated from SUNY IT in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing.
During college Steve was the assistant manager of the Travelodge Motel (Corner of Genesee and the Parkway – where McDonalds is now)!
Steve and his wife Laurie have been married for 27 years and have two great kids - Ronnie and Larissa who have both graduated from Oneida High School. Ronnie graduated from Clarkson and Larissa is in Graduate School at Nazareth College.
Steve has over 25 years’ experience in the Document Management Industry. He has been a successful sales rep and Sales Manager winning Prestige’s President Club Awards and constantly overachieving quota and sales goals.
Steve has previously worked for ComDoc Office Systems in the 1990’s for over 8 years (Now a Xerox Company) Steve worked for FedEx and was Major Account Manager handling Facility Management Agreements with Higher Education and Health Care.
After having a “Spiritual Awakening” Steve left FedEx and became a full time Pastor in Rome, for 6 years.
In 2011 Steve worked as a consultant for Xerox and then in 2012-2013 Steve was the Regional Director of Learning and Development for ComDoc/Xerox. Steve was responsible for training all sales consultants and implementing a 360 Process specifically the DMAIC Methodology – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control Process. After living in Buffalo and traveling to Chicago, Pittsburg and Cleveland Steve wanted to head home and re-establish his roots in his home community.
In 2013 Steve left Xerox and become a partner in BME and focused on sales growth and is now Vice President of Sales and Development for Business Machines and Equipment.
Steve continues to use his leadership skills to build teams, build processes and develop others.
He is looking forward to the next 20 years and leading BME into a technology company that will serve Central New York with great resources from Canon and Xerox.
In July of 2014 Chip Hummel (From Hummel’s Office Plus) and Steve become partners and purchased the balance of BME!
They are joining together the synergies of two great local companies - BME and Hummel’s Office Plus.

About: Laura began working at BME in April of 2013, she previously was a manager at an office in Syracuse working with Banks on foreclosed properties, she also lived in Florida for 3 years and South Carolina for one year. Laura was an active runner in both high school and college, and is partly where she gets her competitiveness from. She enjoys working with people and loves to help people succeed. When Laura is not working she is often in the Adirondacks camping, at home cooking up new recipes, fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, anything to do with being outdoors, and her favorite is curling up on the back porch with a cup of coffee and a good book!

About: Liz joined BME in August of 2013, she is an active Member of Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce & Catalyst. Her key qualities are her persistence and energetic outlook on life. When Liz is not working, she enjoys running (especially in the Boilermaker), cooking, traveling and being with family, especially the newest member – her dog Lincoln.
Education: Business Management at MVCC
About: Jordann started with BME in June 2015. She comes from AmeriCU Credit Union and previously worked at Oneida Savings Bank. She loves working and interacting with people on a daily basis. Some of Jordann’s hobbies are fishing, riding her and her Husband’s Harley around and reading a good book.

Mark joined BME Company in June of 2015 after a courting ritual lasting 2 years! Previously, Mark was the National Sales Manager for a local manufacturing company overseeing operations of five Regional Sales Managers. With a career in the office technology industry spanning over 19 years, Mark also was a medical device sales representative with Synthes Orthopedic Trauma. As Mark would say “I have toner in my blood” and his passion lies within our industry and his career here at BME! Born and raised in Utica, Mark has developed a vast network of business clients over his professional career that has attributed to his consultative managing style. When not forging new client relationships here at BME, Mark can be found enjoying the beautiful Adirondack Mountains from hunting, camping, skiing, hiking, ice fishing and boating. In the summer Mark can and will be found on the golf courses of Central NY with a beer and cigar in hand. Of strong Italian and Polish heritage, traditional foods are always prepared for Family & Friends especially on Sundays! Mark’s pride and joy are his two awesome sons Jack and Mason who constantly reward him with the joys of fatherhood! The BEST job in the world is the gift from God as he leads with integrity, inspiration and faith.

Ally started with BME in February 2016 and she also waitress’s a couple nights a week at Ocean Blue. She enjoys being outdoors in the Adirondacks… hiking, snowshoeing, and being by any lake or ocean. She loves traveling and going on mini-vacations on the weekends or just spending time with her family. Ally is also dog lover!

Bachelor degree in Web Development and Management from Morrisville State College
Abbey was Born and raised in central NY. She has a love for animals and enjoys being out riding her horse or spending time with her three Pugs.. She has multiple crafty hobbies, which include photography and equestrian. In her spare time Abbey enjoys her passion for old cars- she Owns two Camaros - a 1987 sport coupe and a 1984 Berlinetta.
Abbey started at BME in the Summer of 2015 and is constantly updating her knowledge in both Xerox and Canon. She is currently helping to Build Xerox Apps!
